A link to a livestream of the regional competition will be available in September. The regional winner
from North Carolina will move on the compete for $10,000 in the World Championships at Operator
Stadium at ConEXPO in Las Vegas next March.

During each portion of the Global Operator Challenge, participants execute a variety of tasks, such as digging a trench, loading a precise amount of dirt, and hauling or maneuvering the equipment through a variety of obstacles. Scoring is based on the operator’s skills, efficiency, as well as his or her competence in using integrated technology to enhance the machine’s performance.
Heavy equipment machine operators test their skills against those of fellow operators.
In each stage of the competition, operators are challenged to test their agility, resilience and versatility, as well as their competence in using integrated technology to enhance machine performance such as Cat Production Measurement and Cat GRADE systems.
Participants will compete in four challenges:
One (1) operator with the best overall score from all Quinn events combined will advance to the Caterpillar-sponsored regional events in North Carolina on September 22, 2025.
Operators with the best overall score at the Caterpillar-sponsored regional event in North Carolina will advance to the Global Operator Challenge Final event at ConExpo-Con/Agg March 3 – 7, 2026 in Las Vegas.
